DJ - Coffee Surge Hinges On Brazil Frost Potential
With more than one-third of speculative buyers shaken out of
the arabica coffee market during the massive selloff earlier this month, all
eyes are on the weather in top-grower Brazil to push prices higher. Brazilian
forecasters at Somar say "atmospheric neutrality" on the heels of La Nina could
clear the way for intense cold in the center/south regions in July and August,
just when the harvest is picking up speed. Like with most commodities, a
weather premium is likely to start building up way before the fact.
